The Pilates Center of Las Vegas emphases in extremely high degree of abdominal strength, full body control, greater flexibility, integration of the spine and the limbs, and most significantly, the combined power of the body and mind. By performing many different exercises for a low number of repetitions, the muscles are strengthened, elongated and toned without creating bulk. Total concentration on the body during each exercise emphasizes movement quality, coordination and breath.
Born in Mexico City, after graduating from “Escuela de Danza Ana Pavlova” in Mexico, she travel to New York City where she joined The Dance Theater of Harlem and later on became a principal dancer. She has performed in most of the major Opera Houses around the world ( Metrolpolitan Opera House in N.Y., Kennedy Center in Washington, Covent Garden in London, Theater du Chatelet in Paris to name a few). She got certified in The Pilates Method in New York by Romana Kryzanowska in 1995, Elena has furthers her studies of Pilates with such personalities as: Ron Fletcher, Kathy Grant, Pat Guyton and Bob Liekens to name a few, and now she is the owner of Pilates Center of Las Vegas. Currently she directs the Pilates Teacher Training certification program at Manaster Center in Mexico City, Studio DC in Valencia Spain, Costa Rica and in Paris France. Elena has worked with Cirque du Soleil teaching Pilates to “Mistere” artists. She has also been a guest artist with the Oakland Ballet, La Joven Guardia in Cuba, Mexico City and Flint Michigan as well as Toledo Ballet. Elena has taught dance, dance education and Pilates for Dance Theater of Harlem, Ballet Hispanico, Ballet Concepcion de Chile, Maumee Country Day School, Lexington Ballet and Toledo Ballet. Currently she is a member of the Ohio Department of Education Dance Content Standards Writing Team.
